How It All Began

5Hooligans Media actually started in 2008. But, at that time, we didn't know we had actually started it.

 

It goes something like this: We began by broadcasting hockey games in 2008 (Radio Play by Play and Color Announcers) and somehow got roped into producing media pieces for the hockey team we were broadcasting for. We began with simple audio pieces, but, as time went on we began producing promotional video elements as well.

Over the course of a few years, we began producing larger and more complex video pieces (motion graphics), along with creative audio elements (voice-over, music, sound effects, etc). Suddenly, it took on a life of its own and we started producing promotional video pieces for more and more teams. Well, as luck would have it, one thing led to another and we started producing commercial content, industrial, retail, and personal videos for select clients.

Over time, we were less involved in hockey and I became more involved in producing custom content videos. Coming from the entertainment industry (film and television), producing and editing became second nature over the course of my career. So, applying those skills to the broadcasting/media field was relatively simple. Though 5Hooligans Media still produces promotional videos for hockey teams, the main focus now is on personalized and small business marketing pieces for websites and social media. Of course, we are willing to discuss any of your post-production video needs.
